Kenan-Flagler has recruited new scholars in the areas of finance, accounting, operations, consulting, information technology and entrepreneurship, bringing a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the School.

Professor Paolo Fulghieri joins Kenan-Flagler's finance area from INSEAD in France, where he had been a full professor and dean of its PhD Program. His research interests are in corporate finance and initial public offerings, entrepreneurial finance and financial intermediation. He is the winner of a best paper award in the Journal of Banking and Finance. He earned a PhD and an MA in economics from the University of Pennsylvania.

Assistant professor Merih Sevilir joins Kenan-Flagler's finance area from INSEAD. Her research interests are in corporate finance, entrepreneurial finance and organizational theory, and her teaching interests are in corporate finance, entrepreneurial finance and applied corporate finance. She holds a PhD in corporate finance and an MS in management from INSEAD, an MS and BS in industrial engineering from Bogazici University in Turkey and an MS in engineering business management from the University of Warwick.

Adjunct assistant professor Kevin Raedy joins the accounting area as the new associate dean of the Master of Accounting Program. Raedy has been a professor at UNC-Greensboro since 1997, teaching courses in intermediate accounting, auditing concepts and advanced auditing. He received a PhD and an MBA in finance from Pennsylvania State University and a BBA in accountancy from the University of Notre Dame.

Assistant professor Brian Tomlin joins the operations area from supply-chain software company Optiant in Boston, where he was director of research. He previously worked for the Boston Consulting Group, assisting large, multi-national clients with post-merger integration and operations strategy. He earned a PhD in operations management from MIT and a BE in chemical engineering from University College Dublin.

Professor-of-the-practice Edward Cornet joins the management area. He leads the MBA management consulting concentration and teaches consulting courses in the MBA and undergraduate programs. He was a managing partner in Booz Allen Hamilton. He holds a PhD and an MS in physics from the University of Texas at Austin and an AB in physics from Rutgers University.

Professor-of-the-practice Ron Williams is expanding his teaching and service roles with the information technology and e-commerce area. He will be teaching IT-related electives in the MBA and EMBA programs and an IT management capstone course in the undergraduate program. His consulting company focuses on deriving business value from advanced information technologies. Williams worked for IBM for 15 years. He holds an MBA and a BA in math from Indiana University.

Adjunct professor Randy Myer joins the entrepreneurship area, teaching the required business plan exercise for first-year MBAs and an entrepreneurial marketing elective. He is the former CEO and founder of Best Friends Pet Care, now the nation's largest pet services company. As the COO of Lindblad Expeditions, he managed all operating departments for the $60 million family business. He also is a former vice president and partner with Booz Allen Hamilton. He holds an MBA from Harvard and a BA from UNC-Chapel Hill.

In addition, visiting professors in finance include Jose Guedes of Universidade Catolica Portuguesa in Portugal; Deon Strickland, a financial economist with the Securities and Exchange Commission; and Luis Pereiro of Universidad Torcuato Di Tella in Argentina. Strickland earned his PhD in finance from Kenan-Flagler.
