Charles M. Gerrard Society

In 1797 Major Charles Gerrard bequeathed UNC a generous tract of land, much of which he had received for his Revolutionary War service. The University later sold the land and used the proceeds to build Gerrard Hall next to South Building. Gerrard's bequest set an example for the way that planned gifts build and strengthen UNC.

The Charles Gerrard Society recognizes the hundreds of alumni and friends who have remembered UNC through planned gifts. All alumni and friends who document their planned gifts will be welcomed as members.

Now more than ever our School’s future depends upon planned gifts that alumni and friends make today to benefit tomorrow. If you've named Kenan-Flagler as a benefactor in your will, charitable remainder trust, or life insurance policy, we would love to hear from you so we can thank you personally and invite you to be a member of the Gerrard Society. Please contact Tina CoyneSmith at (919) 962-3110 or .
