Otness honored with OneEnergy Scholars® Award


Chris Otness - UNC Kenan-FlaglerOneEnergy Renewables selected Chris Otness (MBA ’15) as a recipient of its 2014 OneEnergy Scholars® Award.

The OneEnergy Scholars® award program is designed to accelerate the careers of high-potential individuals who have demonstrated passion and commitment in the renewable energy field. In partnership with Net Impact, OneEnergy Renewables provides award recipients with recognition for their achievements, personalized career counseling, internship opportunities, and peer and professional networking.

“I’m specifically interested in the integration of innovative energy storage technologies into the grid and to what extent we will be able to utilize them to increase our adoption of intermittent renewable energy power generation,” said Otness. “Through the OneEnergy Scholars program I hope to learn more about the various complexities of the power markets and further develop my career goals in the energy industry.”

Otness was one of seven students selected from a national pool of applicants representing leading U.S. academic institutions. The other recipients are from Harvard University, Terry College of Business at the University of Georgia, USC Marshall School of Business, Presidio Graduate School, David Eccles School of Business at the University of Utah and the Isenberg School of Management at UMass Amherst.
