UNC Kenan-Flagler recognized by Net Impact
Net Impact has recognized UNC Kenan-Flagler for its outstanding sustainability curriculum, activities and career service offerings in “Business as Unusual: The Student Guide to Graduate Programs.” The annual report published by the international nonprofit that connects over 40,000 student and professional leaders focused on creating positive social and environmental change in the workplace and the world.
Among Net Impact’s top 20 graduate programs, UNC Kenan-Flagler was ranked No. 9 for sustainability and No. 18 for social impact. The rankings are based on a poll of Net Impact chapter leaders from participating programs and an online survey completed by students. The MBA Net Impact Club at UNC Kenan-Flagler is one of the oldest and most active chapters, serving as host for the 2001 Net Impact Conference.
The impressive showing comes on the heels of UNC’s MBA and undergraduate Net Impact chapters both receiving the prestigious gold chapter standing this summer. The chapters earned the gold standing by developing and participating in outreach, programming and activities that provide students with education, inspiration and opportunities relating to sustainable business.
The UNC Kenan-Flagler MBA Net Impact Club is finalizing plans for its 12th annual Careers in Sustainability Forum on Nov 1. The forum, presented in partnership with the MBA Career Management Center and Center for Sustainable Enterprise, will feature career-focused panel discussions with leaders in sustainable business, including UNC Kenan-Flagler alumni. Details about the event, which is open to all students in North Carolina, and registration information will be available soon.
Net Impact is based in San Francisco and has over 300 chapters worldwide.
