Innovating the Global Supply Chain Conference

Managing the global supply chain can make the difference between success and failure for a company.

Business and academia leaders will share research and practical applications about areas that are critical to success at the conference “Innovating the Global Supply Chain” at the University of North Carolina.

The event will be held April 7-8 at the Carolina Inn on the UNC campus. It is sponsored by Kenan-Flagler Business School, the Frank Hawkins Kenan Institute of Private Enterprise and the UNC Center for International Business Education and Research (CIBER).

The conference will address changes to retailing caused by the global meltdown and identify technologies that will shape retailing for years to come; examine successes and failures of outsourcing and offshoring with an emphasis on the information technology sector; and consider key aspects of the entire supply chain that are critical to business growth, job creation and economic prosperity.

Business leaders who will speak include:

  • Martha Bejar, president, global sales and operations, Wipro Technologies
  • Martin Richenhagen, president, CEO, and chairman, AGCO Corporation
  • Suresh Krishna, vice president, global operations and integration, Polaris Industries
  • Brian T. Marley, executive vice president and chief financial officer, Belk Inc.
  • Edwin Keh, former senior vice president and COO of global procurement, Wal-Mart
  • Jan Davis, former president and CEO, ShopperTrak RCT Corporation

Professors from Cornell University, Georgetown University, Georgia Institute of Technology, Harvard Business School and UNC Kenan-Flagler also will speak.
