Communicating Across Business Cultures: China and Brazil

A workshop to develop cross-cultural skills in business will be offered March 18 at the University of North Carolina.

“Communicating Across Business Cultures: China and Brazil” will be held from 8:15 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Kenan Center, room 406, adjacent to UNC’s Kenan-Flagler Business School.

The workshop is geared towards local and regional business people who want to work more successfully across cultures, with a focus on China and Brazil.

Practical strategies to use in cross-cultural business situations will be presented by:

  • Cate Brubaker, founder of Small Planet Studio, a website for intercultural educators. She has over 15 years experience as an intercultural educator, trainer and consultant in business, higher education and K-12.
  • Joy Huang, president of Connect East LLC. She is an international management consultant and executive coach specializing in east/west global business, and has more than 15 years of business experience in China, the Americas and Europe.
  • Joan Keston, managing principal Keston & Associates, a consulting firm that provides services for international corporate law and global governance. She has 25 years of experience in domestic and foreign markets.

The fee to attend is $45 until March 11. After March 11, the fee will be $55. Click here to register.

The workshop is offered by the UNC Center for International Business Education and Research (CIBER), which is part of the Frank Hawkins Kenan Institute of Private Enterprise at UNC Kenan-Flagler.
