Over fall break, fifteen first-year students traveled to New York City to meet with distinguished Kenan-Flagler alumni working in real estate. Over the course of two days, the students visited Eastdil Secured, Morgan Stanley, JP Morgan, UBS, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Bank of America Corporate Workplace, and CW Capital. The alumni and their colleagues provided a taste of what it is like to work in areas such as real estate investment banking, asset management, special servicing, and sustainability. They also provided great insight into the macro-economic factors impacting capital markets, and foresight on where activity may move in the coming months.
While in New York, the KFBS faculty and staff joined students and alumni at the annual NYC Real Estate Alumni Social. This event served as a great way for old friends to catch up and new students to meet with alumni outside of the office.
