Mindy Storrie is the Director of Leadership Development for Kenan-Flagler Business School, initiating the role in 2005 to create the Leadership Initiative.  Kenan-Flagler’s leadership program is an experience-based program that assesses and then develops students’ leadership skills to better prepare them for business careers.  The program exposes the student to leadership principles, inside and outside the classroom, and then gives each student the opportunity to practice leadership in meaningful, real-world situations and simulations.  The Leadership Initiative impacts over 1,000 students each year, including the full-time and executive MBAs, Master of Accounting, undergraduate business, and the on-line MBA@UNC programs.  Mindy’s outreach includes building relationships with corporate executives and business leaders to encourage their involvement in the portfolio of leadership initiatives.

Mindy joined UNC’s Kenan-Flagler Business School as Director of MBA Career Services in 1998, where she provided leadership for marketing the school’s graduates to national and international firms and overseeing all training, programs, and services to students and recruiters for seven years.  During her tenure, she served as President of the MBA Career Services Council (MBACSC) Advisory Board, a consortium of over 200 business schools around the world. MBACSC recognized Mindy’s contributions to their organization by awarding her their Outstanding Service Award.  Mindy has received Kenan-Flagler Business School’s Exceptional Staff, Outstanding Team and Outstanding Customer Service Awards several times.

Prior to UNC, Mindy enjoyed a 12-year career with General Electric. During Mindy’s GE experience she educated and coached hundreds of managers on leadership development and performance management. In her last position with GE, she was selected to lead the human resource function for a unique, team-based manufacturing start-up and continues to consult. Mindy has been trained in Six Sigma and received a green belt.

Mindy has presented at the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC), Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International (AACSB), World Resources Institute (WRI), and MBACSC Conferences.  She has frequently been a guest lecturer in organizational behavior courses.

Mindy graduated from UNC’s Executive MBA Program while at GE and also received a B.S. from Ohio State University.
