Raymond B. Farrow III is the executive director of the
Frank Hawkins Kenan Institute of Private Enterprise. In his
role, he serves as the chief operating officer of the Institute and is responsible for helping establish its
strategic direction.
From 1998-2005, Farrow served as director of development for international studies at UNC-Chapel Hill, where he designed a comprehensive fundraising program to support international and area studies programs, including the development of the 80,000-square-foot FedEx Global Education Center, home of the Office of International Affairs.
Previously, Farrow served as program director and managing director at the World Trade Center North Carolina, where he managed the organization’s international trade initiatives. In 1987, he worked as associate producer for Dawn’s Early Light: Ralph McGill and the Segregated South, a PBS film documentary broadcast nationwide examining the role of progressive journalism during the Civil Rights Movement.
In 1989, he was one of fifteen young Americans selected as a Henry Luce Scholar and served a one-year internship in Taipei, Taiwan. A Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Wake Forest University, Farrow received a master of arts degree in law and diplomacy from The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University.
