Objectives

Encouraging cooperative efforts.

Our focus is on three major imperatives: increasing entrepreneurship at UNC-CH and beyond; expanding multi-organization research translation; and leveraging intellectual capital for North Carolina economic development.

Research, education, and consulting are the backbone of the Kenan Institute. Our work is rooted in the core belief that innovative entrepreneurship can solve urgent economic and technological challenges. Now more than ever, North Carolina must employ research from its top universities to address the world's most challenging problems and drive economic development. And to leverage their impact, those universities should join forces in unprecedented ways. Our work to build bridges with other state universities, making it easier to launch entrepreneurs, new technologies and great ideas is a critical investment in North Carolina's future.

We have set specific initiatives to meet our objectives:

Objective #1: Increase UNC-CH entrepreneurship Down Arrow

  • Attract additional investment in UNC-CH research and commercialization
  • Support increased commercialization of UNC-CH technology
  • Connect and stimulate UNC-CH entrepreneurial efforts
  • Form a strategic planning laboratory
We're working to meet this objective through the Kenan Institute Concierge Service for Entrepreneurs, Sport Entrepreneurship, and a Strategic Planning Laboratory

Objective #2: Expand multi-organization research translation Down Arrow

Objective #3: Leverage intellectual capital for North Carolina economic development Down Arrow
