Stephen Stubben teaches and conducts research in financial accounting. His current research focuses primarily on accounting standards, firms’ application of these standards, the quality of the resulting accounting information, and how that information is used in business decisions.
Dr. Stubben received the Wildman Award, presented annually by the American Accounting Association and Deloitte to the publication judged to have made, or to be likely to make, the most significant contribution to the advancement of the practice of accounting. As a teacher, he received the Weatherspoon Award for Excellence in MAC Teaching at UNC Kenan-Flagler.
Dr. Stubben received his PhD from Stanford University and his master’s and bachelor’s degrees in accounting from Brigham Young University.
