Thomas H. Harvey III teaches in the area of real estate development.

He is the former executive director of the Center for Real Estate Development (CRED), which is responsible for the MBA Concentration in real estate.  

Mr. Harvey is the former Pulte Homes area president for Florida. He was responsible for more than $1 billion in revenue, and he focused on strategic planning, market positioning and large parcel land acquisition. In addition to other roles at Pulte, he created a strategy for and launched its international operations in Chile and Argentina.

He is a former division partner at Trammel Crow Residential, and was responsible for the management and development of Harbour Island, a 177-acre mixed use development owned by Beneficial Corporation in downtown Tampa. He is the founder of Harbour Associates, and held various employee and independent partner roles at Sea Pines Company in Hilton Head Island, S.C., while working closely with founder Charles Fraser. He also was president of Carolina Venture Capital Corporation.

Mr. Harvey is a board member of Grubb Properties, Inc., and has served on the boards of the nation’s fastest growing regional airline, a publishing company of a high-end outdoor magazine and books, a developer of student condominium projects and Performance Bicycle, the U.S.’s largest retailer of bicycle clothing and equipment. He real estate consulting focuses on strategic investing.

He received his MBA from UNC Kenan-Flagler and a BA in economics from UNC-Chapel Hill.
