Professor Judy Jones Tisdale is director of the Business Communication Center at UNC-Kenan-Flagler, where she teaches oral and written business communication.
Dr. Tisdale's current research involves academic service-learning, business presentations and accounting communication. She is the author of the 2005 book, "Effective Business Presentations."
She also is a member of the graduate faculty and teaches presentation courses for graduate students across all disciplines at UNC-Chapel Hill.
A former vice president with Bank of America, she worked in sales and sales management in the company's consumer/small business division for 13 years.
She is an elected member of the national board of directors of UNOS (United Network for Organ Sharing); an advisory board member to the North Carolina Psychoanalytic Foundation; project director of Life Takes Guts, an annual organ donor awareness event at UNC-Chapel Hill; and academic adviser to Kappa Delta Sorority at UNC-Chapel Hill.
She received her PhD from UNC-Greensboro, her MA in English from Appalachian State University and her BA from High Point University.
