Kirk Lawrence

Kirk LawrenceKirk Lawrence serves as Program Director (Federal) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Kenan-Flagler Business School. Kirk focuses on helping senior leaders accelerate their organizational performance by helping them align their strategy, human capital, and processes with organizational goals. He concentrates on leadership development, transitions, and accelerating the success of newly promoted senior leaders.

Prior to joining UNC, Kirk worked for an IT company in Washington, DC, where he served as a Client Executive, responsible for business development. He also served as a special advisor to the CEO on strategic development in the Federal Government. Kirk brings 30 years of leadership experience following a career as an officer in the US Army, where he led units in both the continental US and Europe. Kirk also has an extensive background in congressional operations and strategy development, having twice led the Congressional Budget Liaison Office for the US Army, responsible for all liaison with Appropriations Committees in Congress.

Kirk received his B.S. from the United States Military Academy at West Point, NY and his M.S. from the National War College in Washington, DC.

Kirk and his wife, Lisa, have been married for 28 years and have two sons, Jake, an Army Officer currently serving at Fort Bragg, NC, and Adam, a graduate student at Boston University.
