Kate McGoldrick is a Program Director of Executive Development at the University of North Carolina Kenan-Flagler Business School. Drawing on eight-years of experience in leading executive development programs within the graduate business schools of the University of Western Australia and Simmons College in Boston, Kate brings to UNC Executive Development international expertise in designing and delivering customized leadership development programs for Fortune 1000 companies. Some of her clients include Woodside Energy Ltd. (Shell Oil), Western Mining Corporation, Time Warner, Inc., Verizon, State Street Global Advisors, Alcoa of Australia, and Deloitte and Touche. As a program director and facilitator, she is committed to utilizing adult learning principles and leading edge practices that support action learning and behavioral change in leaders and managers. Her leadership development interests include gender in organizations, organizational change leadership, individual and team effectiveness, emotional intelligence, the neuroscience of leadership, personal renewal, and executive coaching.
Prior to joining UNC, Kate served as a senior leader in three national NGO’s in Washington, DC where she led organizational change initiatives to build and sustain organizational relevancy with key stakeholders and constituents. Of relevance, Kate was responsible for corporate relations, corporate social responsibility initiatives, strategic partnerships, and fund development. Some of her clients included Bank of America, Coca-Cola, Oracle, Dow Chemical, Phillip Morris, and The Clorox Company.
Kate holds an MBA from the University of Western Australia and a BA in Organizational Psychology from NMSU. She is a certified IFC leadership coach and is an administrator of 360 degree leadership assessments (CCL’s Skillscope and Benchmarks & Leadership Practices Inventory, Kouzes & Posner), Myers Briggs (MBTI), and other personality and values-based assessment tools. She is also a certified wellness coach specializing in stress and energy management and the neuroscience of leadership.
Kate is a ceramic artist, organic gardener, and environmental activist. She and her husband love to travel for the culture, food & wine, and natural world heritage places, but while home spend time adoring their 5-year old Chocolate Labrador.
