David Leonard is the Interim President of Executive Development at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Kenan-Flagler Business School. He has 20 years of experience partnering with business leaders to build talent, enhance individual and team performance, and achieve strategic objectives. David works with a wide variety of large private and public international clients and has extensive experience in the energy, professional and financial services, and health-care industries.
Prior to joining UNC, David worked at Duke Corporate Education, where he partnered with clients to build their leadership bench strength and prepare executives to achieve new business strategies. He also worked with Sibson Consulting, a global human capital consulting firm, as a leader in its employee and executive effectiveness practices. Before joining Sibson, he was a university lecturer in the organizational behavior department of the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University.
David is a frequent author and speaker on leader talent planning, management and development issues. His work has been published in Innovations in Professional Education, Perspectives, Applied Cognitive Psychology, Capability, INSIGHT, Target - Innovations at Work, Organizational Development Journal, WorldatWork Journal, and The Journal of Management Development.
A North Carolina native, David graduated from Wake Forest University with a BA in psychology, The University of Richmond with an MA in psychology and Case Western Reserve University with a PhD in organizational behavior.
