The Military Veterans Association provides outreach, advice, and social support to military and first-responder service veterans during all stages of an MBA.
Brad Wile - President
Brad is a graduate of the University of South Carolina. Prior to business school Brad was enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps infantry, including one deployment to Afghanistan in support of OEF, and also worked in operations management for Kenan Advantage Group, a petroleum transportation and logistics company. Brad is concentrating in management consulting and corporate finance at Kenan-Flagler, where he is also a member of the Career Services Advisory Board and a Tillman Legacy co-captain.
Arnie Albornoz - Executive Vice President
Hailing from West Babylon in Long Island, New York, Arnie graduated from the United States Military Academy in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management. He was the captain of the Varsity Men’s Tennis team, and branched aviation. An AH-64D Apache helicopter pilot, he spent his first assignment in Camp Eagle, Korea. He then became a maintenance test pilot and took command of D/1-3 AVN at Hunter Army Airfield, GA. He deployed as a Company Commander to Afghanistan and held command for 28 months, and then got promoted to Major before leaving the Army and starting business school. Arnie is also the Chairman of the Admissions Advisory Board, Rizzo Legacy Cup Co-Captain, and a Career Mentor.
Chris Huber - VP of Finance
Chris enlisted in the U.S. Army as a Military Intelligence Analyst in 2001, after graduating high school in Valrico, FL. While serving in the Army, Chris deployed in support of OEF and OIF, spending time in both Kuwait and Iraq. After completing his military commitment, Chris attended college, graduating from the University of Tampa with a Bachelor of Science in Finance. Prior to matriculating to Kenan-Flagler, Chris spent three years at Peachtree Equity Partners, a lower-middle-market private equity firm based in Atlanta, GA.
Joe Pride - VP of Communications
Joe grew up in a family business publishing a national magazine, serving as magazine editor before leaving for the U.S. Coast Guard Academy. As a Coast Guard officer, Joe led teams in operations including the largest drug bust in maritime history, international cross-training with multiple Coast Guards of Southeast Asia, and the BP oil spill response. After the military and a couple years supporting engineering and operations management at a natural gas pipeline company in West Virginia, Joe’s come back to school for his MBA, concentrating on operations and entrepreneurship. An imaginative thinker, Joe enjoys board game nights, drawing, playing piano, woodworking, reading Popular Mechanics, and exploring.
Forrest Wilson - VP of Corporate Sponsorship
Forrest served in the United States Marine Corps as an Arabic and Pashto linguist. During a deployment to Afghanistan, he discovered a passion for Finance. Forrest maintains a personal investment blog and is seeking opportunities within Equity Research.
Lewis Hobbs - VP of Learning and Development
Lewis is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy. He served six years as a Surface Warfare Officer in the U.S. Navy. He is concentrating in Real Estate.
Scotty Lieng - VP of Admissions
Scotty enlisted in the United States Navy in 1999. In 2000, he was picked up for a scholarship to the United States Naval Academy. Upon graduation in 2004, he was commissioned an Officer in the Supply Corps. He has served several tours afloat and ashore including a GSA to Djibouti Africa. He received a scholarship to attend UNC Kenan-Flager and will return to the Navy upon graduation in May of 2015.
