Mission | Leadership Team
The mission of the Private Equity Club is to provide club membership the necessary education, exposure to industry leaders, access to alumni and leadership opportunities so that they might secure a career in the Private Equity space following graduation and establish valuable long-term relationships with colleagues and industry professionals.
Trey Miller - President
Prior to pursuing his MBA at the University of North Carolina’s Kenan-Flagler Business School, Trey Miller was the Assistant Director of Corporate Development at Select Energy Services, a Houston-based oilfield services company. While at Select, he played an active role in all aspects of the acquisition process including sourcing, due diligence, execution and integration. Mr. Miller reviewed over 200 potential transactions and was involved in the successful acquisition of 18 companies valued at approximately $250M. He was also involved in the operational analysis and “turn-around” of a struggling service line. Prior to Select, Mr. Miller attended the University of Virginia where he earned a B.A. in Foreign Affairs and ran track and cross country, earning All-ACC honors. This summer, Mr. Miller will join the CapStreet Group, a private equity fund, located in Houston, Texas.
Scott Fellin - Treasurer/ VP of Finance
Prior to pursuing his MBA at the University of North Carolina’s Kenan-Flagler Business School, Scott was the Chief Financial Officer and a Managing Partner of Deo Volente Farms, an entrepreneurial firm that specializes in the breeding of race horses, and the syndication and management of equine assets. During his tenure at Deo Volente Farms, he was responsible for all financial functions. In this capacity, he managed $10M+ of equine related assets and a $15M+ portfolio including private equity funds, options and publicly traded securities. Scott holds a B.A. from Kean University and attended graduate school at Lehigh University.
Briton Burge - VP of Club Operations
Prior to pursuing his MBA at the University of North Carolina’s Kenan-Flagler Business School, Briton was a partner at Kron Capital in Belgrade, Serbia, a boutique advisory firm focused on private equity deals throughout South East Europe. At Kron, Briton evaluated opportunities across a diverse range of industries including: distribution, energy, mining, real estate, technology, and entertainment. Prior to Kron, Briton worked with Colliers International in Belgrade as a Consultant and then Manager of Investment and Corporate Advisory. Before moving to Belgrade, Briton was an Analyst at Inter-Con Security in Pasadena, CA, where he conducted market research and analysis for domestic and international business development opportunities. Briton holds a BS in Business Administration from the University of Southern California, with an Emphasis in Finance. Briton currently serves as a Director of the Kenan-Flagler Private Equity Fund and will join Rosewood Private Investments this summer, a private equity fund located in Dallas, Texas.
Ryan Geary - VP of Corporate Sponsorship
Prior to pursuing his MBA at Kenan-Flagler, Ryan was an associate in the LBO fund at H.I.G. Capital, a leading middle market private equity fund. He also worked as an analyst in Bank of America Merrill Lynch's Consumer & Retail Investment Banking group. Ryan attended UNC Kenan-Flagler as an undergraduate, earning Highest Distinction while completing a double major in Business and Economics. This summer, he will be interning at Lookout Capital, a growth equity fund located in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Joe Bowman - VP of AIF and Career Treks
Joe Bowman is currently a MBA candidate at the University of North Carolina’s Kenan-Flagler Business School. Prior to pursuing his MBA, Joe was a Financial Analyst at American Capital Strategies. While at American Capital, Joe evaluated corporate strategy and new product offerings for senior management. Prior to his work at American Capital, Joe was a Senior Accountant at The Carlyle Group where he was responsible for the accounting of Carlyle’s largest fund, Carlyle Partners V, L.P. Joe holds a B.S.B.A. from the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University and is a licensed Certified Public Accountant.
Chelsea DiNatale - VP of the Alternative Investment Conference
Chelsea DiNatale is currently an MBA candidate at the University of North Carolina’s Kenan-Flagler Business School. Prior to pursuing her MBA, was an Associate at Casla Partners, a lower middle market private equity fund, where she participated in all aspects of the investment process. Prior to joining Casla Partners, Chelsea was high yield and distressed debt trader covering industrial, retail and European high yield corporates. She began her career on the short term fixed income trading desk at Bank of America. Chelsea graduated from the Cameron School of Business at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with a Bachelor of Science degree in finance.
Chris Huber - VP of the Case Competitions
Chris enlisted in the U.S. Army as a Military Intelligence Analyst in 2001, after graduating high school in Valrico, FL. While serving in the Army, Chris deployed in support of OEF and OIF, spending time in both Kuwait and Iraq. After completing his military commitment, Chris attended college, graduating from the University of Tampa with a Bachelor of Science in Finance. Prior to matriculating to Kenan-Flagler, Chris spent three years at Peachtree Equity Partners, a lower-middle-market private equity firm based in Atlanta, GA, where he participated in all aspects of the investment process. This summer Chris will work in the Charlotte office of Piper Jaffray, a leading middle-market investment bank, where he will focus on sell-side M&A transactions.
Rasheed Bracey - VP of Communications
Rasheed Bracey is currently a MBA candidate at the University of North Carolina's Kenan-Flagler Business School. After completing his undergraduate studies, Rasheed worked in the finance industry as a senior financial analyst in real estate investment and asset management. For the past four years, Rasheed worked with City of Atlanta to explore ways to increase economic development in blighted neighborhoods throughout the city. This role allowed Rasheed to reshape the distribution of economic wealth for many communities. Prior to Rasheed's work career, he earned a B.S in Finance and a Minor in Economics at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, in Troy, N.Y.
