Mission | Leadership Team
The mission of the Private Equity Club is to provide club membership the necessary education, exposure to industry leaders, access to alumni and leadership opportunities so that they might secure a career in the Private Equity space following graduation and establish valuable long-term relationships with colleagues and industry professionals.
Omar El-Sharkawy - President
Prior to attending Kenan-Flagler, Omar worked as an investment professional at Concord International Investments Group, a $1B alternative asset management firm focused on emerging markets. Prior to Concord, Omar taught fifth grade math and science at a public elementary school in Washington, DC. Omar graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Washington University in St. Louis. This summer, Omar will be joining the Energy team at GSO Capital Partners in New York.
Matthew Mildenberg - VP of Finance
Matt Mildenberg is pursuing a concentration in Capital Markets & Investments. Prior to Kenan-Flagler, he graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 2012 with a concentration in Finance and worked as a Credit Analyst at Bank of America in Charlotte. Matt will be interning as a Private Equity Associate at CBC Capital in Raleigh.
Nattha Aroonratsakul - VP of Communications
Nattha is a class of 2018 MBA candidate concentrating in Corporate Finance. Prior to attending Kenan-Flagler Business School, Nattha was an investment banking analyst at Imperial Capital, a middle market investment banking firm based in Los Angeles. She graduated from the University of Southern California in 2014 with a B.S. in Business Administration and B.A. in Psychology. This summer, Nattha will be joining the Investment Banking Division of Goldman Sachs in New York.
Armando Chekerdemian - VP of Corporate Relations
Armando is from Sao Paulo, Brazil, where he did his undergrad in law. Prior coming to business school, he worked for 4 years as an attorney in a prestigious M&A law firm and for 5 years as an investment officer in a middle-market Private Equity firm. Armando is pursuing a concentration in Corporate Finance with enrichment in Entrepreneurship. He will be joining Goldman Sachs for his summer internship in Private Wealth Management. Armando is a big soccer fan and has practiced horseback riding for 15 years.
Anand Das - VP of Learning and Development
Anand Das is a class of 2018 MBA student concentrating in Corporate Finance. Prior to attending Kenan-Flagler Business School, Anand spent 8 years working in investment banking and private equity industries across India and United States. Most recently, he served as an Associate with the Indian arm of a New York-based private equity firm, GenNx360 Capital Partners. In this role, he worked alongside GenNx360 fund managers, providing analytical support related to transactional activities. Anand acted as lead analyst on multiple buy-out transactions, resulting in over $100 million of fund investments. Anand holds an undergraduate degree in electronics engineering from NIT, SURAT - India, Master’s degree in Finance; Anand is also a CFA charter holder. This summer, Anand will be joining the Global Corporate & Investment Banking division of Bank of America Merrill Lynch in Charlotte.
