Leadership Team

Fumihiro Kawasaki - President

Fumihiro graduated from Waseda University with a B.A. in Law. After graduating, he worked for Mizuho FG, one of the largest financial groups in Japan. He served as a Relationship Manager for two years and as an alternative investment manager for seven years. As a manager, he invested in Hedge Funds, securitized products, equity and corporate debt. He spent the last two years in the division as head of US corporate credit, supervising economic research and portfolio management. Driven by his experience of living in five countries and traveling in more than fifteen countries, he has strong interest in international experience and diversity.

Chase Shen - VP of Finance

Graduated from University of Florida. Enjoy traveling and learning new things. Have been to countries in Asia, Europe, and Americas.

Abinaya Vasudevan - VP of Communications

After receiving her degree in Computer Engineering from Nanyang Technological University (Singapore), Abinaya joined her family's start-up business in the Oil and Gas industry. She juggled many roles such as Internal Strategist, Market Analyst and Relationship Manager. As the company grew, she took on more responsibilities and became the HR Manager and eventually, Management Consultant. During this time, she also started her own hobby business in Event Management with her best friends. As a result of her new-found interest in Corporate Finance, she will be working with Hershey's Finance department over the summer.

David Arney - VP of Corporate Sponsorship

David Arney is a Ph.D. chemist and first-year MBA student at UNC Kenan-Flagler, focusing on Global Marketing and Strategy. Prior to business school, David worked as the clinical manufacturing director for a pharmaceutical biotech startup in Raleigh, NC. He is currently a fellow at the Blackstone Entrepreneur’s Network in Durham, where he provides consulting and business advice for startup life-science and tech firms based in North Carolina. This summer he will be interning at BASF in Florham Park, NJ in their LDP Management Program. David holds a B.S. in Chemistry and Physics from Hampden-Sydney College. He enjoys international travel and culture, has lived abroad for several years, visited nearly 40 countries around the world, and is also an active member of the General Management Club at UNC Kenan-Flagler.

Ankit Jhunjhunwala - VP of Creatives and Social Media 

Ankit graduated from the University of Mumbai (Sardar Patel Institute of Technology) in 2010 with a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology. He then joined Deloitte Consulting US-India as a Business Analyst in its Technology practice in its Mumbai office. With consistent high performance in many healthcare domain client engagements, Ankit was promoted to a Consultant and led his own team on a critical ICD 10 Implementation Healthcare project. He will be interning at ADP Inc over the summer in a Corporate Marketing Role and is honing his craft in marketing as part of the MBA Marketing Fellows program and the IBA. He has an interest in writing fiction and criticism and is a film critic for the International Cinephile Society.

Brittany Gulledge - VP of Learning and Development

Brittany received a BS in Chemistry and Biology from UNC Chapel Hill. She then moved to California to earn a MS in Chemistry and Chemical Biology at the University of California at San Francisco. Before starting business school, Brittany worked as a scientist at Biogen Idec. Brittany has a passion for teaching, mentoring, scuba diving, and traveling. Following business school, Brittany is looking to transition into pharmaceutical marketing.

Sayak Bhattacharyya - VP of Careers

After graduating from National Institute of Tech, India in 2010 with a B.Tech in Electrical Engg, Sayak joined Michelin Tires where he was sent to the USA on a customized ledership development program. Sayk managed a multi million dollar manufacturing business unit and produced outstanding results on 3 internal consulting assignments, in US, Thailand and Poland. Following this, he was promoted and put in charge of starting up his own business unit in Chennai, India in a $7 billion greenfield project. Sayak has extensive general management and operations management experience, and has accepted an offer for Senior Product Manager intern at Amazon. Sayak is passionate about the tech induustry, innovation and cultural diversity.

Vakul Dahiya - VP of Careers

Vakul graduated from Kurukshetra University in 2010 with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science Engineering. She worked for Tata Consultancy Services (TATA Group) as a software developer. Here she worked across modules on the online processing of Indian passports project with Ministry of External Affairs, India as client. Thereafter, she started her own venture that was a restaurant. As a First year MBA, she is concentrating in Marketing. She is a part of Marketing Fellow project, promoting UNC brand. Also, she is consulting a health and wellness based start-up from San Francisco to develop their marketing strategy. This summer, she will be interning at Ecolab as a MBA Marketing Intern. She enjoys singing, and traveling.

Robert Brady - VP of Social Activities

Robert has a BS degree in Accounting and worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers for 4 years in financial services taxation. His current focus is in corporate finance.

Kotaro Kiyomoto - VP of Social Activities

He has a BS degree in Law and is working in Denso Corporation, an automotive components manufacturing company. He was in charge of procurement and worked with international coworkers (US, Germany, India, China, Thailand, etc.) to manage efficient global supply chain. Also, one of his main tasks was to establish competitive purchasing environment, so he experienced many price negotiations. He is planning to concentrate on Operations Management, Marketing, and Finance at UNC, Kenan-Flagler Business School.

Takanori Yanaga - VP of Exchange Student Experience and Culture Buddy

Tak graduated from the University of Tokyo in 2007 with a Bachelor's degree in economics. He then joined Daiwa Securities, which is the 2nd largest investment bank in Japan. He has been working in M&A (Merger and Acquisition) division for 7 years and advised more than 50 M&A transactions. He is sponsored by Daiwa Securities for the MBA program.

Jongjung Kim - VP of Exchange Student Experience and Culture Buddy

Jay graduated from Korea University with a B.A. degree in Korean History and started working for Samsung Electronics in Home Appliances product marketing for Middle Eastern and African market. During his time in Samsung Electronics, he frequently visited local markets and enjoyed setting up and executing diverse marketing strategies for those markets. As a sponsored student, he plans to return back to the sponsor company, and wishes to become a business manager dispatched to a foreign office and to experience more exciting business challenges.
