Our mission is to provide Kenan-Flagler MBA students with educational, networking, and developmental resources so that they may pursue and be successful in both formal and informal general management programs.

Leadership Team

Kyle Whitaker - President

Kyle is pursuing concentrations in marketing and operations management. Prior to coming to UNC Kenan-Flagler, he worked as a strategy consultant and in the sustainability departments of BMW and Henkel in Germany. He graduated from Wake Forest University in 2005 with degrees in economics and history.

Aditya Parikh - Executive Vice President

Aditya is pursuing concentrations in Corporate Finance and Marketing. Prior to coming to UNC Kenan-Flagler, he spent 4 years in Financial services, primrily within Investment Banking and research in India. He graduated from Mumbai University in 2011 with a degree in Eletronics Engineering. He enjoys discussing trivia, swimming and critiquing food.

Jose Garakis - VP of Finance

Jose is pursuing concentrations in Management Consulting and Corporate Finance. Prior to coming to UNC Kenan-Flagler, he worked as Industrial Manager and Member of the Board of Directors in its family business in a company that produces food packaging in Brazil. He also worked as Materials Manager at Pilkington before working to the family business. He graduated in Materials Engineering and did a specialization in project management.

Matthias Hunkeler - VP of Corporate Relations

​After Matthias graduated from Hamilton College in 2010, he started working for FactSet Research Systems, a financial software company. He focused on FactSet’s fixed income products in a sales and consulting role. He is pursuing an MBA with a concentration in corporate finance to develop the skills necessary to lead and develop strategies in ambiguous business environments. This summer Matthias will be interning at Liberty Mutual as part of their Summer Corporate Development Program. In his free time, he enjoys playing soccer.

Lindsey Lassiter - VP of Communications

Lindsey is pursuing a dual MBA/MPP degree with a focus on highly regulated industries. Prior to attending UNC Kenan-Flagler, Lindsey was the Corporate Development program director for a military-focused non profit organization in Washington, D.C. She created platforms for productive communication between naval defense contractors and the Department of Defense. Lindsey holds a B.A. in European History and enjoys cooking, biking, and hiking.

Jay Yang - VP of Learning - Career Trek/Career Panels

Jay is pursuing a concentration in strategic marketing and general management. He started his career as a researcher in top European technical universities and continued as research scientist in Corning, the materal company. He will join Owens-Corning as a strategic marketing intern in the summer of 2016. He likes history and travelling.

Abhishek Gupta - VP of Learning - Case Competition

Abhishek Gupta is pursuing a concentration and career in consulting at Kenan-Flagler. After getting his undergrad degree in computer science, he spent some time as a strategy consultant before co-founding a venture in his hometown – New Delhi, India. Outside of school, he enjoys dabbling in new adventure sports, dancing and performing at different events, and exploring different food cuisines.

Since General Management encompasses a wide variety of positions including leadership development programs, functional rotational programs, corporate strategy, business development, project management, human capital management, and human resources, students interested in pursuing careers in any of these areas benefit from the information, resources, and networking opportunities that the General Management Club provides. Member benefits include:

Career Preparation: Mock interview workshops, resume critiques, behavioral interviewing strategy sessions, general management and rotational program internship panel discussions, industry executive panel discussions, industry guest speakers, diversity conference preparation

Targeted Networking Opportunities: Cocktail events with recruiters and alumni networking sessions

Speedy Access to General Management Career Opportunities: Besides early intimation about on-campus and off-campus general management openings through the club’s mailing list, club members can have their resumes included in the club’s resume book that is sent to leading employers who use it to proactively identify internship and full-time candidates.

Case Competitions
: General Management focused case competitions organized by the club allow members to not only hone their general management skills but also practically demonstrate their strategic thinking and collaborative abilities to potential recruiters who serve as judges for these competitions.

Career Treks: These informational visits to companies with prominent corporate strategy or business development groups as well as those with strong rotational leadership programs allow club members to learn about various aspects of general management from key executives and demonstrate their strong interest to these potential recruiters.
