Our mission is to provide Kenan-Flagler MBA students with educational, networking, and developmental resources so that they may pursue and be successful in both formal and informal general management programs.
Marcella Xavier Aquino - President
Marcella was born in Brazil, where she graduated from Pontifical Catholic University of Minas Gerais, with a degree in Psychology. During her studies, she was awarded a scholarship to spend one semester at the Universtity of Renne in France. She has worked for companies such as Whirlpool Corporation (Cross-Functional Leadership Program) and the World Trade Center Association (Sales Program) in Brazil. She has a certificate in Management from one of the top business schools in Latin America (Fundação Dom Cabral) and is now pursuing an MBA, with a concentration in Marketing, at UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School. She will be working as a Marketing Intern at Dell in Austin/Texas during the summer of 2015. Besides working and studying, Marcella enjoys sports, traveling, and cooking.
Nate Woodward - VP of Finance
Liz Sypher - VP of Communications
Nate graduated from the University of North Carolina Wilmington in 2008, with degrees in English and Business Administration. After graduation, he was a General Manager of a restaurant in Chapel Hill, helping to manage a staff of 30. From there, he spent 4 years working in e-commerce in the Washington D.C. area, first as a marketing analyst for a family-owned outdoor furniture manufacturer, and then as a marketing manager at National Geographic. In addition to the GM club, Nate is as a Kenan Institute Leadership Fellow, a Boeing Innovation Fellow, and holds a leadership position in the Marketing club. This summer, he'll be working at Red Hat in a Global Brand Strategy role.
David Arney - VP of Corporate Sponsorship
David Arney is a Ph.D. chemist and first-year MBA student at UNC Kenan-Flagler, focusing on Global Marketing and Strategy. Prior to business school, he worked as the clinical manufacturing director for a pharmaceutical biotech startup in Raleigh, NC. David is currently a fellow at the Blackstone Entrepreneur’s Network in Durham, where he provides consulting and business advice for startup life-science and tech firms based in North Carolina. This summer he will be interning at BASF in Florham Park, NJ in their LDP Management Program. David holds a B.S. in Chemistry and Physics from Hampden-Sydney College. He enjoys international travel and culture, has lived abroad for several years, and is also an active member of the International Business Association at UNC Kenan-Flagler.
Liz was born and raised in Greensboro, North Carolina. Prior to business school she served in Ecuador with the Peace Corps where she taught English and trained government teachers on classroom methodology and standardized test-taking skills. She has a degree from NC State in Business Administration and is pursuing concentrations in Marketing and Sustainable Enterprise at Kenan-Flagler. During the summer of 2015, she will be working as a Marketing Intern at Ecolab.
Prerna Kapoor - VP of Learning - Career Trek / Career Panels
Prerna is very passionate about technology and got her Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science Engineering. Prior to business school, she worked as a technology and business consultant with Sapient for 8 years. She led several projects to build a trading and risk management platform for an asset management firm in Boston. Her experience, having worked in the US gives her a unique perspective on life as an international student. She is very excited about her summer internship at Eastman Chemical Company in their Commercial Leadership Development Program. She enjoys painting, cycling and listening to music in her free time.
Bhaskar Srinivas Chikkam - VP of Learning - Case Competition
Bhaskar holds a dual degree in Electrical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology – Madras (IITM). He worked in a start-up consulting firm for a couple of years before moving to Thomson Reuters in a technology role, where he was involved in managing projects, building analytical tools and business analysis. At Kenan-Flagler, he is concentrating in Consulting and Marketing. He will be heading to Ecolab in a Marketing intern role during the summer of 2015. In his free time, Bhaskar enjoys playing soccer, volleyball, table-tennis, ultimate (Frisbee) and cheering for Manchester United!

: Besides early intimation about on-campus and off-campus general management openings through the club’s mailing list, club members can have their resumes included in the club’s resume book that is sent to leading employers who use it to proactively identify internship and full-time candidates.
: General Management focused case competitions organized by the club allow members to not only hone their general management skills but also practically demonstrate their strategic thinking and collaborative abilities to potential recruiters who serve as judges for these competitions.
: These informational visits to companies with prominent corporate strategy or business development groups as well as those with strong rotational leadership programs allow club members to learn about various aspects of general management from key executives and demonstrate their strong interest to these potential recruiters.
