Leadership Team

Blake Koch - President

KochBlake graduated from the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management, where he studied Marketing and International Business. After his undergraduate studies, he joined a leadership development program at Ingenix Consulting/OptumInsight. His consulting engagements included regulatory response, organizational design, and process improvement projects in the healthcare insurance industry. In his spare time, Blake enjoys reading nerdy books, rock climbing, and cooking new recipes.

David Kearns - VP of Case Competitions

KearnsDavid graduated from the University of North Carolina Kenan-Flagler Business School, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a focus on marketing. After graduating David joined The Link Group, a marketing research consultancy, where he spent the next eight years. At The Link Group David directed both qualitative and quantitative research projects worldwide, conducting business in 20+ countries across five continents to help clients gain global insights and develop worldwide strategy. David is married to his beautiful wife Emilie and they have a young son and three dogs, so he doesn’t have any spare time.

Sally Bogus - VP of Case Competitions 

BogusSally graduated from the University of Washington, where she was pre-med and majored in psychology. After her undergraduate studies, she joined Valant Medical Solutions, a start-up healthcare technology firm. In her 3+ years with the firm she worked in various roles from business development to marketing. In her spare time, Sally enjoys spin class, emoji texting, baking treats and hanging out at Pantana Bobs.

Ben Martini - VP of Communications

MartiniBen graduated from the University of Louisville where he studied Chemistry and Biology. While in school, he worked as a bench chemist in the Department of Pharmacology where he had numerous publications. A desire for direct patient care led him to medical school at The Ohio State University. Many days (and nights) of hard work had Ben pursuing a residency in plastic surgery from Top 10 programs with a long term goal in burn reconstruction. Personal issues arose and a focus onto more widespread impact in the healthcare field led Ben to ultimately pursue healthcare consulting and an MBA degree from UNC Kenan-Flagler. Outside of school, Ben still enjoys studying medicine, as well as hockey, tennis, and soccer.

Jimmy Sindhwad - VP of Learning & Development

SindhwadJimmy completed his undergraduate studies with a Bachelor of Engineering. He then worked as a Project Manager for Larsen & Toubro Ltd. and as a Manager for Reliance Industries Ltd. He is looking forward to his summer interning at Deloitte Consulting.

Kiltie Tompkins - VP of Learning & Development

TompkinsKiltie graduated from Washington & Lee University with a degree in Business Journalism. With no desire to be a journalist, she spent three years at a sports marketing agency in Charlotte, NC working on Toyota’s NASCAR activation and 2 years in Washington, DC executing Strategic Partnerships for Blackboard Inc. In her spare time, Kiltie enjoys watching entire seasons of TV series in one sitting if it’s cold or raining, being outside if it’s sunny and above 55 degrees, and visiting friends and family in other cities such that she is never in town on the weekends.

Laura Houston - VP of Learning & Development

HoustonLaura graduated from Syracuse University with a dual degree in Political Science and Communications from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communication. Upon graduating Laura pursued her passion for social responsibility and entrepreneurship by starting her own sustainable farming business. Looking to take her love for business, problem solving and having an impact to the next level, Laura is excited to be getting her MBA from UNC Kenan-Flagler. In her free time Laura enjoys crossing things off her NC bucket list, hiking, paddle boarding and sharing meals with her friends.

Vardhan Kamat - VP of Finance

KamatVardhan graduated from Thadomal Shahani Engineering College (Mumbai University), where he studied Computer Engineering. After his undergraduate studies, he worked with Accenture as a developer and with Ernst & Young India as a Senior Consultant in their Risk Advisory practice. In his four years of work experience, he has had diverse experiences in technology and in consulting. In his spare time, Vardhan plays soccer and enjoys adventure sports.


Erik Engebretsen - VP of Corporate Sponsorship (Atlanta)

EngebretsenErik graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Management from Palm Beach Atlantic University. Since graduation, he has worked at Bimbo Bakeries USA in corporate finance and business analysis. His work included guiding pricing and promotional strategies and developing and executing against KPI and reporting processes. Erik enjoys running, loves craft beers, and is passionate about the mobile video game industry.


Nabil Khan - VP of Corporate Sponsorship (Charlotte)

KhanNabil came to business school with corporate and investment banking experience having worked with Citibank across Asia Pacific offices. He completed his undergraduate studies from the University of Dhaka and has worked with capital markets, leveraged finance, and liquidity management for institutional clients at Citi. Nabil enjoys choreographing dance performances, has a strong interest in vintage cars, and loves playing soccer and tennis.
