Our mission is to advance UNC Kenan-Flagler students toward consulting-related careers by providing opportunities for them to explore the consulting industry and learn consulting skill sets.
Tony Morash - President
Tony, a Boston native, earned his BA in political science from the College of the Holy Cross and his MA in Intelligence and International Security from King's College London. Prior to business school, he worked as an Intelligence Officer for the Defense Intelligence Agency, tasked to U.S. Central Command in Tampa, Florida. Tony worked on primarily strategic geopolitical and terrorism issues, and he spent the first half of 2013 in Iraq as the Defense Department's senior analyst for threats and warning. He spends his free time following Boston sports teams, particularly the Bruins, running, cycling, reading books on leadership and military history, and doing case prep for fun.
Phil Matta - Executive Vice President
Phil earned his BS in biomedical engineering from the University of Minnesota. He went on to work for Ionix Medical - start-up medical device - for the next 2 years. His work spanned various projects including FDA toxicity testing, treatment generator manufacturing, and electrode design. Following his time at Ionix Phil came to UNC to earn his master's in biomedical engineering. His research included designing experimental protocols to better understand the safety of little league baseball and work with lower limb exoskeletal robotics to aid in human walking. Upon complelting his degree Phil left for Goldman Sachs where he worked for 2.5 years working as a business analyst in a projects role with the derivatives organization. Phil spends most of his free time working out and thinking about CrossFit.
Andrew Bromley - VP of Case Competitions
Andrew is a dual Master's degree candidate in the Department of Health Policy and Management in the School of Public Health and the MBA program at the Kenan-Flagler Business School. Before returning to school, Andrew worked in healthcare as a Registered Dietitian and in public education with Teach for America. Andrew has been passionate about food his entire life and has discovered profound meaning in utilizing nutrition to prevent and treat disease. Our healthcare system is in crisis, and preventative solutions are the key to a sustainable future. After graduation, Andrew hopes to find a career at the intersection of business, policy, and heatlhcare where he can pioneer and champion these reforms.
Bhisham Lalwani - VP of Case Competitions
Bhisham graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a degree in Industrial and Enterprise Systems Engineering. After graduating he moved to Indiana to work for Cummins Engineering and then back to India to work for a boutique brokerage firm. Prior to business school he spent 2.5 years in Estonia working in a Paper Mill as a Project Manager and later as a Sales & Marketing Manager. Bhisham enjoys playing cricket, playing for the Estonian National Team, and also cycling and reading in his free time.
Ben Thayer - VP of Communications
Ben graduated from Tufts University with a degree in civil engineering. He promptly took his skills to Raleigh, NC, where he worked for an environmental engineering firm modeling the effects of stormwater pollution and managing water infrastructure projects. His interest in business strategy drew him to UNC Kenan-Flagler, where he led the school’s Ice Bucket Challenge charity event. In his spare time, Ben enjoys wrenching on his race car and trying to cook the perfect omelet.
Caitlin Fross - VP of Learning & Development
Caitlin graduated from Georgetown University with a degree in Science, Technology & International Affairs. After graduation she stayed in DC to work in federal consulting, with a focus on healthcare clients. Caitlin is currently a dual degree student at UNC Kenan-Flagler and UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health. After graduation she hopes to continue in the field of healthcare consulting, with a focus on international development work. Outside of school, Caitlin enjoys running, traveling, catching the occasional country concert, and exploring the good food in the Triangle area.
Sheela Ramesh - VP of Learning & Development
Sheela graduated from the University of Michigan with a degree in Economics and German. She worked with an insurance company for two years, with a focus on agency profitability and growth, before moving to Chicago to work as a management consultant in the banking and financial services industry. She is currently pursuing a concentration in management consulting and corporate finance and after graduation hopes to continue working in consulting. In her free time, Sheela enjoys running, photography and trying to reclaim her former tennis glory by playing outdoors as often as possible.
Preston Neal - VP of Learning & Development
Preston graduated from Brandeis University with a degree in Near Eastern & Judaic Studies. After working for several years in the nonprofit sector, Preston transitioned into financial services. Prior to business school, Preston was the Branch Operations Manager at an institutional asset management firm in New York City, where he implemented major process improvement initiatives that enhanced the client on-boarding experience. In his free time, Preston enjoys rock climbing, playing guitar and coming up with slightly pretentious names for his future dogs and children.
Brian Kemmerer - VP of Finance
Brian earned a degree in economics with a concentration in public policy from the University of Virginia. Upon graduation he moved to Washington, D.C to follow his passion of building efficiencies in the federal space. He began first with consulting engagements at the Department of Homeland Security and then transitioned to the Department of Health and Human Services where he led a multi-year engagement to develop a unified, cross-agency digital strategy. When not at Kenan-Flagler, Brian enjoys training his German Shepherd, Elwood, cooking and eating with his wife, and planning for future additions to the family.
Drew Haley - VP of Corporate Sponsorship
Drew gradated from Appalachian State University with a degree in Finance and Banking. After graduating he began his career in BB&T's Leadership Development Program and then worked for BB&T in Commercial Lending, Sales, and Credit Analysis roles for six years. Drew is persuing a concentration in Management Consulting, and hopes to work in that field post graduation. Outside of Kenan-Flagler Drew enjoys playing golf, travelling, UNC athletics, and attending concerts.
Rodrigo Aquino - VP of International Experience
Rodrigo was born in Brazil, where he graduated from Milton Campos Law School in 2006. After graduation, he pursued his passion to music for 3 years, as a full-time singer and composer, recording 2 CDs and 1 DVD. He also holds a Certificate in Tax Law and a Certificate in Management with emphasis in Finance. Prior to business school, Rodrigo worked both in the Public Sector – as Legal Advisor to the Mayor of the third largest city in Brazil, Belo Horizonte; and the Private Sector – as M&A Advisor, participating in 10+ deals and leading the deal team 3 times. Rodrigo enjoys running, cooking for friends and watching sports. Upon graduation, he will be working in the Management Consulting industry.
