Fundamentals tailored with numerous electives
Core courses - Begin your academic experience with world-class core courses developed to strengthen your business fundamentals. This will provide you with skills applicable to general business functions and help you develop the strategic mindset to make an impact quickly. Your first year of coursework includes all core courses.
Electives - After the first year, you will tailor your MBA to fit your career goals. The Evening program provides you with an opportunity to take many electives from a wide array of courses relevant to many industries and functions. Eleven electives are required, but you can take more if you prefer. Thirteen electives are offered in the Evening format.
In addition, you can complement the curriculum with global immersions, global business projects, and the Global Entrepreneurial Lab (GEL). You may also have an opportunity to take courses with the Weekend program, the Day MBA program, MBA@UNC, and other institutions.
Concentrations - Demonstrate your commitment to a particular field and earn a notation on your transcript. Concentrations include Strategy, Marketing, and Finance. Concentrations require six of the 11 electives and include Weekend courses that have an additional charge of $800/course.

During your first year, the core classes meet only one night per week, on Mondays from 5:45 to 10:00 p.m. (including breaks). This efficient class schedule ensures that you can balance other commitments.
During your second year, your schedule will change based on your elective courses. Electives are typically held on Monday or Tuesday evenings. This flexibility allows you to coordinate your course interests with your external schedule.
To gain the full Executive MBA experience, you’ll also attend three immersion weekends. Featuring orientation and closing immersion weekends, the program also includes a mid-program immersion with a focus on leadership. Lodging is provided for the initial orientation weekend.

The Evening program uses the preferred cohort-based system. By attending class with the same peers for 24 months, you are assured to develop a long-lasting and fruitful network. You will join teams during your core courses, but collaborate with your entire class. In addition, your elective courses provide additional working relationships with your classmates.
