Dean Douglas A. Shackelford, Dean, UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School
A UNC alumnus and North Carolina native, Shackelford has served on the UNC faculty since 1990. He is an award-winning researcher and teacher whose work focuses on taxes and business strategy. He currently holds the title of Dean of Kenan-Flagler Business School in addition to the Meade H. Willis Distinguished Professor of Taxation.
Dean Shackelford aims to mold the School into the "greatest business school of the 21st century." He plans to accomplish this through investing in developing technologies in business, mastering the delivery of high-quality business education on a grand scale, emphasizing diversity in all degree programs at UNC Kenan-Flagler, and instilling students with a comprehensive "global education" to promote diverse cultural knowledge and sensitivity.
Mike Christian, Sarah Graham Kenan Associate Professor of Organizational Behavior
An award-winning teacher and researcher, Christian studies the mind-body connection at work. His research examines how somatic states such as sleep, pain and sickness affect energy, work engagement and self-control at work. Additionally, he is looking into how these factors dynamically relate to unethical behavior, as well as desirable work performance. His teaching interests include leadership coaching, leading effective teams and organizational change.
Dr. Christian received his PhD in management from the University of Arizona, his master's degree in industrial and organizational psychology from Tulane University and his bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin at Madison.
