Adele was born in Rhode Island and was raised in Alabama, Tennessee, Hudson, NC and finally Hickory, NC where she lived for 10 years prior to going to college. Adele was a Millikin Scholar at Converse College prior to transferring into UNC’s MAC program her Junior Year. She was a page in the North Carolina State Senate, appointed by State Senator Cass Ballenger and the United States House of Representatives, appointed by Representative Cass Ballenger, who represented North Carolina’s 10th congressional district. After graduation, Adele started her career as a cost accountant at IBM in Research Triangle Park, NC. During her 10 year tenure with IBM, Adele held roles in corporate accounting and finance in RTP, NC, San Jose, CA, Hungary, Singapore, Thailand and China. After leaving IBM, Adele held positions in the CFO, COO, and CMO organizations at Seagate Technology leading the global cost, supply chain metrics, customer service operations, and finally the global pricing and revenue planning functions of the organization. Later, Adele was Vice President of worldwide sales operations for Hitachi Global Storage Technologies. And was Vice President of worldwide supply chain finance and restructuring for telecommunications company Avaya. Currently Adele is working independently as a sales and marketing consultant and teaming with a global strategy firm Aveus on special projects requiring her expertise in sales operations, finance, and pricing. Adele is serving as a mentor in the Virtual 100 program of Menttium Corporation, as treasurer of the Governor’s Village Townes HOA, and has served as a captain in the Relay for Life for several years. She holds a BS in Business Administration and a Masters in Accounting from UNC – Chapel Hill. In her free time, Adele loves to travel, play golf, garden, bake cakes, and tend her orchids. Adele and her husband Don Brown currently reside in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
