What he does

United Devices Grid MP™ platform gathers the idle capacity of computers to run applications in a number of fields, including life sciences, geosciences, manufacturing, financial services and chemical engineering.

United Devices' grids are being used today to help find new drugs to treat cancer. The grids also are used to eliminate bioterrorism threats such as anthrax and smallpox and to accelerate the drug discovery processes at half of the world's top 10 pharmaceutical companies. The company also runs a nonprofit global research grid for public health projects at Grid.org.

"I really love the fact we can have this impact, particularly in the medical arena," Hubbard says.

Hubbard speaks frequently around the world. He has returned to UNC Kenan-Flagler several times to offer his perspective on business.
