UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School

Cross-Cultural Training

Business professionals, students and faculty improve their communication and negotiation styles and learn business etiquette for other cultures through the Global Business Center’s cross-cultural training programs.

These certificate programs, workshops and classes feature intercultural concepts applied to business contexts, case studies, exercises and country-specific sessions to help participants practice how to adapt their communication and behavior to be more effective in foreign markets.

Workshop leaders use CultureActive, the Intercultural Development Inventory and other tools to assess participants’ communication styles and levels of intercultural communication competencies.

A certificate program, Cross-Cultural Savvy for Global Business, offered annually provides a multi-faceted approach to global skills development in business contexts.

This program is supported by a Center for International Business Education and Research (CIBER) grant from the U.S. Department of Education.
