UNC Kenan-Flagler Reunion Weekend 2008

Reunion Weekend 2008 was held October 10 – 12 and was a great success. Over 300 alumni and their families and friends joined faculty, staff and current students for a wonderful weekend of reconnecting with the School.

On Friday, we kicked off with golf at Chapel Hill Country Club and later that afternoon our Reunion participants enjoyed a special tour of the fantastic new Carolina Basketball Museum. Coach Roy Williams stopped by and chatted with alumni and their guests. Then, it was time for our “Barbecue and Bluegrass” reception, with many former faculty legends in attendance. The evening concluded with many alumni reliving their student days at He’s Not Here, at a great party hosted by the MBA Student Association.

On Saturday, the day began with our annual service project for Any Soldier, Inc., where over 30 alumni prepared packages and wrote notes for our overseas troops. Formal programming provided the “State of the School” address by new Kenan-Flagler Dean, Jim Dean. Noon time activities included two wonderful faculty seminars on Globalization (by Peter Brews) and Entrepreneurship (by Ted Zoller), as well as tours of both the newly-renovated McColl Building and UNC’s main campus.

Everyone enjoyed the great food and atmosphere at our Pre-Game Celebration. A raucous viewing party for the great UNC victory over Notre Dame followed, and the day was capped off by our special Post-Game Celebration.

The weekend ended in grand style with Sunday brunch at the historic DuBose House in Meadowmont.

Thanks to all that attended and we look forward to seeing you at next year’s Reunion.
