Kick-off with Immersion Weekend

The Class of 2016 begins with a residential immersion weekend (September 5-7, 2014). You’ll be staying overnight at the Paul J. Rizzo Conference Center in Chapel Hill, NC. The overnight stay is required, and the room cost is included in your tuition. Here’s what you can expect:

  • Start coursework and participate in your first case discussion
  • Learn about the Career Management Program
  • Get to know your classmates and the program staff
  • Meet your study team and launch into working together during Sunday’s Outdoor Adventure
  • Involve your partner in workshops on Saturday and Sunday

Global Residencies

During the 21-month program, you’ll join OneMBA students from around the world during four weeklong residencies.


Residency dates are:
  • North America (Alexandria, VA): September 14-20, 2014
  • Europe: March 22-28, 2015
  • Latin America: November 8-14, 2015
  • Asia: May 8-14, 2016

Convenient once-a-month class schedule

After immersion weekend, you will attend class once a month, Friday through Sunday. This is a typical weekend class schedule:

9:30 – 11:00 am General Management and Strategy (session 1)
11:15 – 12:45 pm General Management and Strategy (session 2)
12:45 – 1:45 pm Lunch
1:45 – 3:15 pm General Management and Strategy (session 3)
3:30 – 5:00 pm Analytical Tools for Decision Making (session 1)
Evening options: Dinner, study team meetings, individual study and relaxation

Saturday
9:30 – 11:00 am Analytical Tools for Decision Making (session 2)
11:15 – 12:45 pm Analytical Tools for Decision Making (session 3)
12:45 – 1:45 pm Lunch
1:45 – 3:15 pm Global Operations Management (session 1)
3:30 – 5:00 pm Global Operations Management (session 2)
Evening options: Dinner, study team meetings, individual study and relaxation

Sunday
8:00 – 9:30 am Global Operations Management (session 3)
9:40 – 11:50 am Leading and Managing Global Organizations (session 1)
11:10 – 11:50 pm Lunch
11:50 – 1:20 pm Leading and Managing Global Organizations (session 2)
1:30 – 3:00 pm Leading and Managing Global Organizations (session 3)

In addition to classes, most students spend 15-20 hours a week in individual study or team meetings.
