Kick-off with Orientation Weekend

The Class of 2016 begins with a residential immersion weekend (October 9-12, 2014). You’ll be staying overnight in a Chapel Hill hotel. The overnight stay is required, and the room cost is included in your tuition.

Here’s what you can expect:
  • Start coursework and participate in your first case discussion
  • Learn about the Career Management Program
  • Get to know your classmates and the program staff
  • Meet your study team and launch into working together during Sunday’s Outdoor Adventure
  • Involve your partner in events on Saturday night and Sunday

Class Schedule for Core Courses

After orientation weekend, you will attend core classes on Monday evenings through mid-December 2015 with several immersions during the core program. You will attend core courses in a lock-step format with all of your Evening MBA classmates. This is a typical Evening MBA schedule:

Monday
5:30 – 7:30 p.m. Analytical Tools for Decision Making (session 1)
7:50 – 9:50 p.m. Communication (session 2)

In addition face to face classes, students will be required to complete virtual course sessions. Most students spend 20-25 hours a week in individual study or team meetings.

Class Schedule for Elective Courses

Your elective courses will begin in January 2016. Evening elective courses are offered several nights of the week to provide at least 15 options for courses. You may enroll in Weekend electives for a nominal fee.

Wrap-up Immersion Weekend

The final Immersion Weekend will be held in October of 2016. You will regroup with your classmates for a last weekend of classes and team projects before graduation.
