Prospective Students Visiting UNC:

Business School Tours

On select Mondays and Fridays throughout the academic year we offer student-led Business School tours and an admissions Meet & Greet.  These tours are scheduled at 2:00pm, so we encourage visitors to attend the 10:30am session of the UNC campus tour led by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. To register for a UNC Campus tour, contact the Office of Undergraduate Admissions.

Kenan-Flagler Business School is located in the McColl building off of Skipper Bowles Dr., beside the Dean Smith Center, and only a 10 minute walk/3 minute bus ride (U Bus) from Ram’s Head Parking Deck. There is no visitor parking available at Kenan-Flagler.  For more information regarding UNC visitor parking, please visit UNC Visitor Parking.

Our tour begins in the Undergraduate Business lobby, which is located on the 3rd floor of the McColl Building, right at the top of the stairs.

Self-Guided Tour App

If you can't make it to one of our in-person tours, we invite you to try out our new Self Guided Tour App.  Stop by the Undergraduate Business Help Desk (McColl 3100) to get instructions for downloading the app on your mobile device or to borrow one of our iPads.  The Help Desk is open Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 4:00pm.

Current UNC Students:

Current UNC students who are interested in business should stay tuned to our Events & Deadlines schedules to ensure that you are aware of all open house events, info sessions and deadlines.

Pre-business Advising

Pre-business majors or minors are encouraged to seek pre-business advising from the General College Division of Social Science Advisors in Steele Building. These advisors are the best source for comprehensive first year advising and work closely with the Undergraduate Business Program to ensure students are prepared for the business school admissions process.

Although we do not conduct pre-business advising in the McColl Building, we do offer a limited number of small group and individual advising sessions in the Steele building and in Hardin Hall.

Small Group Advising in Steele

The Business School, in conjunction with General College Advising, is offering small group advising for first-year students who may be interested in pursuing a business degree. Transfer students are also welcome to attend.

In half of the session, we will discuss the following: business school pre-requisites and course planning, what the business school is looking for in an applicant, what should students do for their sophomore summer, and what global opportunities are available through the business school. In the other half of the session, a Social and Behavioral Sciences Academic Advisor will provide an overview of General College Advising services, help you understand how to make the most of Tar Heel Tracker and class search functionality, discuss registration strategies and academic eligibility.

By attending this session, we will remove the registration hold that is placed on each first year student’s account until they meet with an Academic Advisor. We have found that students really appreciate these group sessions since they also learn from the questions of their peers. Students will have some time for individual questions and advising within these sessions.

Schedule a small group advising session on the Events tab of the Undergraduate Business Program's Student Life page.  Note that UNC students must login with their Onyen in order to view the small group advising events on that page.
