Begin searching for private scholarships early as deadlines normally occur in the winter/early spring prior to the academic year for which the award is made. Be aware that private scholarship opportunities are generally more limited for graduate and professional students and especially so for MAC students. If you will search for private scholarships independently, be wary of any organization that requires an application fee as these are likely not legitimate.
