Most important effect UNC Kenan-Flagler had upon me

"UNC taught me how to adapt to a new environment quickly. It increased my ability to be a fast learner. This ability is so critical in the ever-changing global business environment."

What she does

"Essentially, we provide financial and risk analysis to the company's corporate and investment bank industry groups. They serve our largest corporate customers," Ding says. "We have built teams of analysts in India, Brazil and other places to centralize the function." She established a process to deliver the results to industry groups that make fixed income investment decisions.

"Citigroup offers opportunities in so many areas," Ding says. "You can find growth opportunities without switching to other companies."

Most memorable experience at UNC Kenan-Flagler

Research for a business school case study helped pique Ding's interest in Citigroup while she was a student. "I did very well on the case study in the class, and, more important, that knowledge helped prepare me to interview with Citigroup," Ding says.

Citigroup selected Ding for its Global Emerging Markets Management Associates Program, which provided rigorous training and worldwide job rotation to an elite group of 13 recruits. "It exposed me to all the major aspects of corporate and investment banking," Ding says. "I developed a very strong network of resources to help me grow professionally."
