International Work

The final step towards an international career is gaining experience outside your home country. At UNC Kenan-Flagler, three programs will help you do that.
  • International MBA Summer Internship Program: The Program sets up internships outside the United States for MBA students. The internships take place during the summer after your first year in the MBA Program. Internships have taken place throughout the world, but UNC Kenan-Flagler focuses on internships in Southeast Asia and Latin America.

  • MBA Practicum Program: A Practicum will give you a chance to work with United States companies expanding their operations or foreign companies doing business in the United States By working with real issues, you will have a chance to put theory into practice. Open to second-year students, you will develop solutions for a company. Students receive credit for the experience and work in teams of 3 to 5 people. The company you are working for is expected to pay associated costs for the practicum.

  • MBA Enterprise Corps: Modeled after the Peace Corps, the Enterprise Corps is a consortium of top United States MBA Programs. The program sends students who have graduated to work for 12 to 15 months in countries outside of the United States. Most of them are emerging countries. Enterprise Corps members receive a living stipend during their stay in host countries. You also will receive immersion language training before starting work.
