Areas of Concentration

You are required to declare a major area, which consists of 6 courses (18 hours). Students may concentrate in one of the following 6 areas:

Operations, Technology and Innovation Management
  • Operations Strategy
  • Service Operations
  • Supply Chain/ Logistics Management
Finance
  • Corporate Finance
  • Asset Pricing and Investments
  • Financial Intermediation
Organizational Behavior
  • Individual and Group Behavior
  • Organizational Theory
Marketing
  • Consumer Behavior
  • Analytical/ Quantitative Marketing
  • Marketing Strategy
Strategy
  • Strategy/Business Policy
  • Strategic Alliances
  • Strategic Decision Making

These courses may be a combination of required courses offered within or outside your major area, or approved electives.

Supporting Areas of Concentration
You must declare a supporting area, which consists of 4 courses (12 hours). This allows you to develop expertise in a field related to your research and teaching interests. These courses are usually drawn from a single area within the business school or from a specific area outside a department. You may assemble 4 courses from more than one area if they constitute a coherent package.
