Raleigh

Approximately 25 miles from Chapel Hill, the North Carolina capital has 12 museums including the NC Museums of Art, History and Natural Science, is home to the North Carolina State Fair, the Raleigh Symphony Orchestra and the Carolina Ballet.

Durham

Approximately 11 miles from Chapel Hill, Durham is known as "The City of Medicine" and the "Bull City" for the movie Bull Durham.
