MBA Business School Interviews
and Campus Visits

MBA Interview Policy

Interviews are by invitation only. Interview invitations will be extended via e-mail.  Interview invitations can be issued at any time prior to the decision release date.

An invitation to interview is a positive indication of the admissions committee's preliminary assessment of your candidacy.  Interviews may be conducted on campus, by telephone, by webcam, or with an alumnus in some locations.  All interviews, regardless of type, are equally weighed in the admissions process.  We aim to interview all candidates admitted into our program.

If you are based outside of the U.S. and are planning a visit to our Chapel Hill campus, please contact mba_interview@unc.edu prior to scheduling your visit to see if you have been approved for an on-campus interview during your visit.

Visit our Frequently Asked Questions page for answers to additional questions you may have about the interview.

Visiting the Business School

We encourage all applicants to visit our Chapel Hill campus.  You may visit campus with or without a scheduled interview.  Schedule your visit by logging into our Application Central site and selecting “Schedule an Interview or Campus Visit”.  During your visit, you can choose to:

  • Attend an MBA class
  • Join a group of MBA students for lunch
  • Tour the MBA business school

You also may want to reach out to one of our MBA Ambassadors prior to your visit.

As noted in our Interview Policy above, if you are based outside the U.S. and planning a visit to campus, we may be able to inform you prior to your visit if you are approved for an on-campus interview during your visit.
