Inside Kenan-Flagler (IKF)

October 29-31, 2009

The Alliance of Minority Business Students and the MBA Admissions Office are excited to offer an MBA minority preview weekend, Inside Kenan-Flagler (IKF) October 29-31, 2009. UNC values diverse voices as integral to the MBA learning experience. Our goal is to increase awareness among students who are underrepresented in American business schools, specifically African Americans, Hispanic Americans and Native American/American Indians. As such, Kenan-Flagler strives to enroll talented MBAs each year from all walks of life, maintaining an overall class diversity across the spectrum. With that in mind, we are very excited to invite you to join us in Chapel Hill for IKF in October!

Since 1987, IKF has provided an opportunity for us to bring a select group of diverse, top-caliber prospective MBA applicants to campus to experience UNC Kenan-Flagler, UNC and Chapel Hill up-close and in-person. This year’s IKF participants will experience interactive sessions, panels, workshops, social activities, and the opportunity to meet with and engage members of the MBA Admissions Committee, current students, faculty, staff, and UNC Kenan-Flagler MBA alumni.

If you have not had the chance to visit UNC Kenan-Flagler, or if you want a chance to see the program from an insider’s perspective, this is a great chance to do so. IKF is a fun and in-depth event during which hotel accommodations, meals and transportation are provided. Space is limited and all participants must submit a brief event application to receive an invitation to attend. IKF invitations will be distributed on a rolling basis, so apply early!

The 2009 IKF Event Application is now available!

We hope that you will join us for this unique on-campus opportunity!

Important information to remember:

  • Apply early - space is limited.
  • Candidates will be invited to attend IKF via email on a rolling basis.
  • Priority is given to candidates who plan to apply for fall 2010 admission.
  • If you received an invitation to complete an MBA Admissions Interview, you will also have the opportunity to do so during IKF (optional).
  • Hotel accommodations, meals and shuttle transportation will be provided during IKF. Hotel accommodations at the Franklin Hotel will be made available to participants Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings.
  • Participants are responsible for all travel expenses to and from Chapel Hill, including airport transfers. Kenan-Flagler does not reimburse travel expenses to or from Chapel Hill. Interested participants are encouraged to apply early so they can book airfares as soon as possible.
  • Guests cannot be accommodated at all IKF events. Those events which can accommodate guests will be noted on the agenda as we get closer to the event date. During all other times, guests are welcome to explore other recreational opportunities in the area.

Note: Participation in IKF has no bearing on MBA admission decisions.
