Affiliated Organizations

The Center for Entrepreneurial Studies works closely with many campus, regional and national entrepreneurial organizations:

Council for Entrepreneurial Development (CED)
With over 3,500 members representing more than 1000 companies, the Council for Entrepreneurial Development (CED) is the world's largest entrepreneurial support organization. The Center's partnership activities with CED include: educational and networking programs, and sponsoring and hosting of various CED events such as InfoTech, Biotech and Venture conferences. UNC students often attend CED events at reduced prices or as volunteers, and several CED events are hosted on the UNC campus.

North Carolina Small Business and Technology Development Center (SBTDC)
The NC Small Business and Technology Development Center provides management counseling and educational services to help North Carolina businesses meet challenges, manage change and plan for the future. The Center for Entrepreneurial Studies works closely with SBTDC to place students in internships and consulting projects with local businesses. The SBTDC also hosts the annual statewide SBTDC Graduate Business Student Competition.

UNC Office of Technology Development (OTD)
The UNC Office of Technology Development manages the commercialization of research conducted at UNC-Chapel Hill. Students have the opportunity to work on teams to write business plans and develop strategies for emerging UNC businesses. OTD is a partner in the Carolina Launch Program.

Global Consortium of Entrepreneurship Centers (GCEC)
The Global Consortium of Entrepreneurship Centers is an organization through which entrepreneurship centers can share information, develop special projects and make improvements in curriculum, research, outreach, projects and financial support for the entrepreneurial studies. UNC Kenan-Flagler hosted the 2005 NCEC Directors Conference.

National Venture Capital Association (NVCA)
NVCA is the trade association for the venture capital industry, and is a perennial supporter of the Venture Capital Investment Competition (VCIC).
