Advising
An advisor dedicated to the entrepreneurial studies program will:
- Assist you in selecting your courses, based on your interests
- Help you choose from among the six student clubs that focus on entrepreneurship the ones that are right for you
- Assist you in finding an internship that meets your career objectives
- Advise you in our entrepreneurial consulting course
- Advise you on launching your new venture or in selecting the right opportunity as you reenter the job market
Students may petition to substitute other courses toward the requirements of the major. Such requests will be expected to demonstrate that the student is pursuing a coherent plan of entrepreneurial studies at UNC Kenan-Flagler. In the petition, the student should outline proposed courses for the major (including the substitution) so that the request can be considered within the context of all entrepreneurial management coursework.
Student Advising on Major Requirements and Course Selection - must be completed prior to signing up for courses, and prerequisite requirements for each course must be followed. All students who choose an entrepreneurial concentration will be required to meet with an advisor to determine which courses and combinations make the most sense based on the student's area of interest (e.g. technology start-ups, biotech start-ups, acquisitions of an existing business, investment banking, consulting, real estate entrepreneurship, private equity, family business, entrepreneurship in a large corporation, distressed opportunity and turnaround management, etc). |
