Launch a Career - From Military to MAC

  • Masters degree in 1 year
  • Business, liberal arts and science majors are all eligible
  • No pre-requisites or work experience required
(we have our own boot camp!)
  • 95-100% placement rate
(average starting salaries in the 50’s)
  • Private sector jobs available in major cities, or enhance
    your military career

The Kenan-Flagler Master of Accounting (MAC) Program is a unique 12-month Program that leads to a highly marketable degree. It has been touted as "one degree with 180 degrees of flexibility." The skill set required to be an exceptional leader in the military—problem solving, strategy, planning, teamwork—is the same skill set required to be a successful professional accountant. With a MAC degree, you can transition into the private sector or continue your career in the military. Either way, you are advancing.

Scholarships & Fellowships

We are offering a $5,000 scholarship to all candidates accepted into the program. And application fees are waived to military personnel currently on active duty. For select students, there is the opportunity to participate in a Teaching Assistantship.

Admissions

Admission requirements include:

  • All GMAT and grade requirements for civilian students. Learn more about the GMAT at mba.com.
  • Three letters of recommendation: one from your CO, one academic reference, and one reference from a military colleague.

A full list of our requirements and a requirements checklist can be found on our Admissions Requirements page.

Housing

The Housing and Residential Education Department has information on graduate student housing and student family housing at Baity Hill available for your entire tenure in the program.

"You focus on analytical, communication, leadership and organizational skills, things that most people don’t think of when the stereotypical accountant comes to mind. I like to think of having the accounting degree and the CPA as having another set of tools in the tool kit."
