Areas of Emphasis
A BSBA emphasis generally consists of a minimum of nine credit hours of electives. The general management major may choose to add an emphasis in one of the following:
- Consulting - a minimum of 9.0 credit hours, including BUSI 554: Consulting Skills & Frameworks, 3.0 credit hours of an applied learning experience, and 3.0 credit hours of electives in an area of interest.
- Entrepreneurial Studies - a minimum of 9.0 credit hours, including 1 core course, 1 foundation elective and 1 interest elective.
- Finance - a minimum of 9.0 credit hours beyond BUSI 408: Corporate Finance and BUSI 407 & 409 (Financial Statement Analysis & Advanced Corporate Finance).
- International Business – 9.0 credit hours, including a semester or summer study abroad or a global study trip during the two years in the business school, a modern foreign language completion through level 4, and 9.0 credits of international business elective courses.
- Investments - a minimum of 9.0 credit hours, including either BUSI 580: Investments or BUSI 591: Quantitative Methods for Investments, and 6.0 credit hours of electives from the approved list.
- Marketing Consulting - a minimum of 9.0 credit hours, including 1 foundation course and 2 electives.
- Marketing Management - a minimum of 9.0 credit hours, including 1 foundation course and 2 electives.
- Real Estate – a minimum of 9.0 credit hours selected from a list of business elective courses.
- Sales - a minimum of 9.0 credit hours, including 1 foundation course and 2 electives.
