Consulting Club Holds Booz Allen Hamilton Case Contest
The Consulting Club at UNC Kenan-Flagler hosted the first annual Booz Allen Hamilton Case Competition April 4-8.
The competition provided valuable exposure to firm executives.
After the materials were released to teams of first-year MBA students, they had a week to delve into the case details and develop a plan of action. Participants then presented their findings to a panel of Booz Allen Hamilton executives, UNC Kenan-Flagler faculty and club officers.
The winning teams included:
- First place: Adam Cogley, Julie Young, Karen Libby and Kristin Bryant
- Second place: Jose Guevara, Alan Hanson, Bill Lam and Andrew Thiesing
- Third place: Abby Asare, Alan Hart, Manish Hebbar and Nikki Rogers
- Fourth place: Mehmet Akgun, Paul Cox, Margaret Harrelson and Smith Taweelerdniti.
"Booz Allen Hamilton is one of the oldest and largest top management consulting firms in the world. The case competition gave them a serious look at our students as perspective employees," says management professor Ed Cornet, chair of the MBA consulting concentration. "They were impressed enough to invite four first-years from the competition to their McLean headquarters for internship interviews for this summer."
"Thanks to Laurie Schollaert, associate director of MBA Career Services, and Consulting Club officers Kady Srinivasan and Richard Culberson for making it such a fine event."
Booz Allen Hamilton expressed interest in making the competition an annual event that pits teams from various schools against each other.
