UNC Entrepreneurship Boot Camp
UNC is proud to present the fourth Entrepreneurship Bootcamp. Made possible by a grant from the Ewing M. Kauffman Foundation of Kansas City, the Bootcamp brings together junior faculty who are interested in research on minority business enterprise (MBE) and women business enterprises (WBE) with leading scholars in the field.
When: July 8-10, 2009
Where: Rizzo Conference Center, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
Cost: Free participating faculty completing the intensive course will be paid a $1,000 stipend. All travel and accommodation expenses will be covered
Participants spend three intensive days onsite, learning from experts in their fields, sharing ideas and networking. Entrepreneurship Bootcamp is taught by faculty members from across the nation who rank as top scholars in entrepreneurship subfields covering African Americans, Hispanics, and women. On the final day participants have the opportunity to meet one-on-one with senior faculty to discuss their research interests.
Entrepreneurship Bootcamp goals include:
- expose young faculty to cutting-edge scholarship in these subfields
- encourage young faculty to develop (or deepen) research interests in these areas
- allow them to get to know and network with the nation's top scholars working in this niche
To encourage pursuit of research on topics directly related to entrepreneurship among black Americans, Hispanics and women, participants completing the July intensive course will be eligible to compete for research funding.
