As an interdisciplinary UNC program, BASE seeks to accelerate the growth and impact of sustainable businesses that have environmental and social objectives as central to their core business, product, or service by connecting them to a range of business development resources.

Entrepreneurs: BASE will improve sustainable businesses' chances of long-term success by minimizing costs and injecting expertise and resources during the crucial startup phase.

UNC: BASE will provide students with an interdisciplinary experiential learning opportunity that illustrates how environmental/social considerations can be integrated into all aspects of business.

Community: BASE will raise the visibility of sustainability issues and will foster the growth of new businesses that have a significant positive impact on the environment and society.
