The objective of this webinar is to review a number of events and stories that are currently in the news about Brazil and provide background explanation about the cultural, economic, historical, or business factors that are necessary to understand the significance of these events, both for Brazilians as well as for international communication.

About the Presenter
Orlando R. Kelm teaches courses in Portuguese and Spanish, focusing mainly on business language and the cultural aspects of international business communication and doing business abroad. His research and publications center on the cultural aspects of international business and the pedagogical applications of innovative technologies in language learning, focusing mainly on Latin America and Brazil. Kelm’s most recent online materials development project is entitled "Conversa Brasileira." He recently co-authored "When We Are the Foreigners: What Chinese Think About Working With Americans" and a book about Brazilian perceptions regarding their work with North Americans entitled “Brazilians Working with Americans.”
