Next Generation Conferences
The Next Generation is a three-year series of conferences designed to prepare “next-generation” business leaders and scholars who are focused on innovations in global business practices.
The program aims to inspire and develop a new generation of scholars to pursue research on leading issues of global competiveness.
The inaugural conference, “Innovating the Global Supply Chain,” in April 2011 welcomed more than 90 thought leaders from academia and the private sector. “Brands and Branding in Law, Accounting and Marketing” followed in April 2012. About 100 academics and industry representatives attended each conference. A third conference, “Global Private Investing: Navigating Complexity, Maximizing Results” will be held in December 2012.
Each conference in the Next Generation series includes special sessions dedicated to junior faculty research. Most often this takes the form of an invitation-only roundtable following the conference for junior faculty from UNC and universities around the world. They presented and shared research findings and ideas and discussed challenges and opportunities they face in pursuing their research.
