Kelly Boone directs CSE Consulting, the innovative and award-winning student sustainability consulting program of the Center for Sustainable Enterprise at UNC Kenan-Flagler. He teaches the “Sustainability Consulting” class in the MBA Program.

CSE Consulting is an extension of UNC Kenan-Flagler’s pioneering and critically acclaimed Sustainable Enterprise MBA curriculum. It provides MBAs with the opportunity to combine triple-bottom-line thinking and standard business analysis and supply sustainability consulting to companies and enterprises, non-profits and entrepreneurial ventures. CSE Consulting has delivered actionable business recommendations to 22 select clients—including Progress Energy, Johnson & Johnson and Bank of America—in its four years of operation.

Mr. Boone has a background in engineering, environmental consulting and as chief strategist for a green technology start-up as director of business development. He has conducted independent consulting work for the Chapel Hill/Carrboro Chamber of Commerce and its Institute for Sustainable Development focused on business planning for its mission to create, capture and transfer knowledge and application of best practices in sustainability to its constituency.

Mr. Boone has participated on numerous professional and academic panels discussing the topic of sustainable enterprise strategy for competitive advantage.

He received an MBA from UNC Kenan-Flagler, an MS in environmental systems engineering from Clemson University and a BS in mechanical engineering from Auburn University.
