Umit Ozmel studies how social networks interact with uncertainty, information asymmetry and moral hazard concerns in determining an organization's strategy and performance. She also analyzes the formation and governance of strategic alliances. Her research has implications for entrepreneurship and venture capital as well.
Professor Ozmel worked as a strategic consultant and prior to that as a corporate account manager for Ottoman Bank in Istanbul.
She has a PhD in management from Columbia Business School. She also has an MA in financial economics from the Yale School of Management and an MBA from Koc University. She received her BS in electrical and electronics engineering from Bogazici University in Istanbul. |
