Biography

The research interests of Sean Wang include capital markets, behavioral finance and the behaviors of arbitrageurs, earnings management and intangibles.

 

Dr. Wang has written about the disagreement of smart traders and their effects on the predictability of future stock prices; the trade-offs between real and accrual style earnings management to meet earnings benchmarks; and currently is  examining the effects of industry concentration on stock price informativeness.

 

Previously he worked as a consultant with Cendant Corporation in Parsippany, N.J., and as a business development manager with Girindus AG in both Koln, Germany, and Tampa, Fla.

 

He received his PhD in accounting from Cornell University’s Johnson Graduate School of Management, his MBA in finance from New York University’s Stern School of Business, his MA in chemistry with highest honors from the University of South Florida and his BA in chemistry from Duke.
