Arzu Ozoguz specializes in investments and international finance. Her previous work addressed the effect of investors’ uncertainty about the state of the economy on equity returns. More recently, she conducts research on the effect of foreign equity ownership in emerging markets.
She has presented her work at numerous conferences and received best paper awards. Her research has been published in the Review of Financial Studies.
Dr. Ozoguz teaches core corporate finance and advanced corporate finance courses. Before joining UNC Kenan-Flagler, she taught at Queen’s University in Canada and Koc University in Turkey.
She also worked in Istanbul as an economist working with the research department in an investment bank, and as a financial analyst with Unilever.
She speaks Turkish, English and French.
Dr. Ozoguz received her PhD and M.Sc. in finance from INSEAD, her MBA from Koc University’s Graduate School of Business and a BA in economics with high honors from Oberlin College.
